Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross Nominated for Golden Globe’s Best Original Score

It is quite fitting that on the day that David Fincher’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo finally hits theaters, we report the news that Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have been nominated for a Golden Globe in the the Best Original Score – Motion Picture category.  If they happen to win, it will be their second collaboration with David Fincher that leads to awards in film scoring.

We’ve been reporting about this score for a month or so now, since interesting new details involving this project keep surfacing.  Several covers noteworthy cover songs have been released, such as Karen O’s “Immigrant Song” and How to Destroy Angels’ “Is Your Love Strong Enough”.

Now as the Golden Globe nominations have surfaced, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have the potential to reclaim their crown as the winners of Best Original Score, an award that they won at both the Golden Globes and Academy Awards for The Social Network.

The other competitors for this award include John William’s War Horse, Howard Shore’s Hugo, Abel Korzeniowski’s W.E., and Ludovic Bource’s The Artist.  Tune in January 15 to see if Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross once again win the fight for Best Original Score at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards.
