Listen: Hear Two New Radiohead Songs “The Daily Mail” and “Staircase”

Those dissatisfied with the abruptness of The King of Limbs will be happy to hear that Radiohead has just released two new songs, “The Daily Mail” and “Staircase.”  The songs have been made available for download by the band, and will be included on The King of Limbs – From the Basement DVD collection.

The King of Limbs – From the Basement is a DVD that includes a live studio performance of the album by Radiohead.  The newly released songs “The Daily Mail” and “Staircase” will be included, along with “Supercollider.”   Those who purchase the DVD or BluRay will get exclusive downloadable versions, along with a 32 page hardback book that includes photos from the basement sessions.  Head over to Radiohead’s store to make the purchase.

“Staircase” is reminiscent of Radiohead’s Kid A days, as well as some of the electronic soundscapes present on The King of Limbs.

The other new track, “The Daily Mail,” starts off as what would appear to be another downtempo ballad created primarily by Yorke, but about halfway through the song, the band erupts into lively rock instrumentation that hasn’t been heard from the band since In Rainbows.

These two new songs, along with the release of “Supercollider” and “The Butcher” certainly round The King of Limbs out into what finally appears to be a full length album.  The fans wanted more, and as always, Radiohead stepped up to the plate and delivered.
