In a controversial new music video released by singer/songwriter Lana Del Rey, the volatile relationship between Del Rey and a nameless tattooed man comes to a controversial finale following an explosive car accident that leaves Del Rey bloody, lifeless and topless in the arms of the man.
The video also opens with the couple sharing a topless kiss in front of an American flag, and engaging in various displays of affection in and around the car that eventually leads to her grisly demise.
Del Rey was forced to premiere the video a month before its intended January release date after it was leaked online. Del Rey asked her secretary to share the video after it appeared on a Russian website.
In a Facebook post, Del Rey says “I hope you like it – this isn’t the time or the way that I wanted to show you the video but I’m in Beijing with not access to social media, and the video’s been leaked from Russia.”
Del Rey has made a splash outside of the leaked video scene, securing herself a Q Next Big Thing award earlier this year.
