We’ve been keeping you up to speed about the details for Tent Reznor and Atticus Ross’ ambitious scoring of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Now that the film score has been digitally released, we can hear what is perhaps the most interesting collaboration on the soundtrack. This track features frontwoman of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Karen O, in a haunting rendition of Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song.”
If possible, this new version of “Immigrant Song” might be even bigger than the Led Zeppelin version is. Karen O does a great job filling Robert Plant’s shoes, while Reznor’s pounding industrial drums seem inescapable. If the rest of the film is anything like this opening collage done by David Fincher, it should be a great success.
