Watch: EVITAN (Black Sheep’s Dres and A Tribe Called Quest’s Jarobi)- “PTI (Occupy Wall Street)”

Native Tongues emmcee’s Dres (Black Sheep) and Jarobi (A Tribe Called Quest) are releasing an as of yet untitled album sometime this spring under the moniker EVITAN, and their first offering from it is the single “PTI (Occupy Wall Street). Check out the video after the jump:

The video depicts the duo rapping amongst the OWS protesters in New York spliced with clips of the sometimes intense interactions between protesters and the NYPD.

“The 99% need to have not just a voice, but voices,” says Dres in a recent press release on what inspired he and Jarobi to write the song. “We need to have more voices that speak to our plight beyond what is given to us via the media.”The pair also insisted shooting the video live amongst the protesters, despite logistical difficulties, saying that they “couldn’t be soldiers and not see the front line.”
