The Bloody Beetroots- headed by the masked electro-punk Italian producer Sir Cornelius Rifo- released a new single called “Church of Noise” last month in collaboration with Dennis Lyxzén of Swedish hardcore-punk pioneers Refused and the International Noise Conspiracy, who are also featured in the music video. Check out the video after the jump:
The unlikely pair have a common interest in the anarchism of Maletesta, according to Rifo in a recent press release, citing otherwise ambiguous comparisons between Refused’s seminal album The Shape of Punk to Come and The Beetroots’ debut Romborama.
The video was directed by Charlie Lightening, who has done work with Arcade Fire, Primal Scream, Beady Eye and Kasabian, and was produced by Rifo and Youth who is a founding member and bassist of Killing Joke. The “cultural-music movement”, as Rifo refers to it, is rife with the familiar visceral screams and ferociousness of hardcore blended with a spoken-word breakdown and inspired strings.
