Yesterday, French shoegazing band M83 announced official dates for spring tour of North America, beginning with an April 22 show in San Francisco. The spring tour follows two sold out shows in Los Angeles and Club Nokia on January 12 and 13. The tour is in support of their new double album, Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming, released in October 2011 on the Mute label.
Hurry Up We’re Dreaming is M83’s sixth studio album, following the release 2008 release of Saturdays = Youth. The album, released October 18 of this year, was produced by Justin Meldal Johnsen on the Naïve Record label in France, and Mute Records in the United States.
It was met with positive reviews in the States, and even debuted at number 15 on the US Billboard 200. It was, not surprisingly, the band’s highest-charting album to date. Lead singer Anthony Gonzalez of France took influence from his recent tour with Depeche Mode and Kings of Leon.
