Watch: Aphex Twin Conduct a 48-piece Orchestra and 24-piece Choir

Aphex Twin, commonly known as Richard James, accomplished a technological feat by conducting a 48-piece orchestra and 24-piece choir with only remote controls.  He has recently released a full length video that captures the ambitious experiment.

The experiment was accomplished via a remote control, midi controllers, tons of headphones, some remote visual cues, and a total of 66 musicians.   Aphex Twin conducted this music for the European culture congress in Poland, working with musicians from AUKSO chamber orchestra and the OCTAVA ensemble+.  There was only one rehearsal to see if this idea would work, which took place the day of the concert.  The concert took place on September 10 at Centennial Hall in Wroclaw, Poland.  Watch the YouTube video below to see exactly what and how Aphex Twin was conducting the orchestra and ensemble.
