Release Details Announced For Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’ Soundtrack to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Trent Reznor has made another massive splash this evening, announcing the full release details for his and Atticus Ross’ soundtrack to the upcoming David Fincher movie, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Reznor and Ross have outdone themselves, putting together a staggering 39-song release, spread across 3 CDs if purchased in CD format, and 6 vinyl discs if purchased in vinyl format.

On the main page of his Nine Inch Nails web site nin.com he has detailed two different pre-order possibility paths and has described the soundtrack by stating, “We laughed, we cried, we lost our minds and in the process made some of the most beautiful and disturbing music of our careers.”

The first pre-order path is through iTunes, where the album can be ordered for $11.99. An exciting addition to this pre-order path is that the purchase immediately grants the buyer a free download of the duo’s cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” as well as the opportunity to view the special 8-minute trailer of the movie in the storefront prior to purchase. Reznor further added of that special trailer, “We scored this trailer separately from the film, BTW.”

The other path offers altogether different options. This one is through Reznor’s own Null Records storefront. There, fans can either download a 6-track sampler for free, or purchase the album in one of four different ways. All four purchase options include a direct download link in an email for the music on December 9th. The options are as follows:
