Leonard Cohen Reveals New Details About Old Ideas

As we reported back in mid-October, famed Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen plans to release new album, Old Ideas, in 2012. With the New Year looming, Cohen recently revealed a number of details regarding the effort, which will serve as his first release in over eight years.

Now slated with a January 31, 2012 release date via Columbia Records, Old Ideas will feature 10 new tracks from Cohen that “poetically address some of the most profound quandaries of human existence – the relationship to a transcendent being, love, sexuality, loss and death.,” according to a recent press release.

The album will see both a digital and physical release in the form of CD and LP.  It’s associated collector’s bundle will come with a limited edition lithograph, totaling 5500, of the album’s artwork, which Cohen himself created.  More info is available at the artist’s online store.
