Results of Heavy D Autopsy Inconclusive

The results of an autopsy performed on rapper Heavy D have been inclusive in determining the cause of death of the late rapper. As previously reported, Heavy D passed away on November 8 after he collapsed outside of his Beverly Hills home. He was 44.

According to a statement made last week by the L.A. County coroner’s spokesman, no drugs were discovered in the rapper’s home. One prescription cough medicine could have been prescribed for symptoms of pneumonia, corroborating reports that Heavy D likely passed away from respiratory distress.

Heavy D was born Dwight Arrington Myers in Mandeville, Jamaica. His family later moved to My Vernon, New York, where he was raised. Heavy D broke into the music industry with his record with the Boyz, Living Large. He went on to record successes such as “Now That We Found Love,” and theme songs for the television series “In Living Color,” and “MADtv.

Funeral services were held on November 18 in the rapper’s hometown of Mt. Vernon, with speeched made by rapper P. Diddy Combs and Reverend Al Sharpton.
