Self-described aging alternative icon Henry Rollins will host benefit concert for water charity Drop in the Bucket on November 30 at Hollywood’s Avalon venue. The event will feature appearances from a slew of guests including Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor, Dave Navarro, Anthrax’s Scott Ian and Rob Zombie guitarist John 5, among others.
The Los Angeles/Uganda-based Drop in the Bucket will donate proceeds from the benefit show to expand water-gathering programs in the Bahr el Ghazal region of South Sudan. That area has recently experienced an influx of former refugees from North Sudan due to South Sudan’s recently declared independence.
“Drop in the Bucket is trying to make things better. There’s no profit incentive here. It’s only about getting people to water and keeping them alive and healthy,” said Rollins via a recent press release. He made a trip to Africa last year to observe the organization’s actions in person.
Also appearing at the event will be artist Shepard Fairey (who also designed the show’s poster) performing a guest DJ set, The Office’s Kate Flannery with her lounge outfit The Lampshades, Slayer’s Dave Lombardo and other unannounced guests.
Tickets are currently available via Ticketmaster. They will also be available at the door.
