Philly bred hip-hop group The Roots have been steadily releasing music videos from their new concept album, Undun, for the last few weeks. Their latest offering, “Stomp” features P.O.R.N. and follows an armed robber through his nightly desecration of New York City. Check out the video after the jump:

This chilling Malcolm X quote opens the music video for “Stomp”, which was was shot and directed by Clifton Bell of The Ghetto Nerds Company. Bell has worked with some of the biggest names in hip-hop today, old and new (Method Man, Redman, Rev Run and Ice Cube to name just a few), and brings his acclaimed style to the Roots’ latest video. The music video is short and not so sweet, just like being robbed at gunpoint must be, and shot entirely in black and white. Bell uses multiple cuts and gun-in-your-face perspectives which give the video a raw, knuckle-to-the-wheel feel and fast break-neck pace.
As previously reported, the group is dropping music videos weekly in anticipation of the December 6 release of Undun. After dropping “Make My” in audio form, the group released music video for “Tip the Scale” as well as the track-list and collab list for Undun– including indie artist Sufjan Stevens, Big K.R.I.T. and Dice Raw.
