Original Black Sabbath Members Schedule Official Press Conference for 11/11/11 at 11:11 AM

The original members of metal behemoth Black Sabbath are scheduled to hold Henry Rollins-hosted press conference at the world-famous Whiskey a Go-Go in Los Angeles at 11:11 AM on November 11.  Expected by many to announced a reunion, a press release for the event that it will be a “special announcement at the same location where the influential band made their Los Angeles debut on November 11, 41 years ago.”

Expectations of a reunion, rumors of which have been going for several months, are in direction contradiction to a February statement from bassist Geezer Butler in which he said that there is no chance of a Black Sabbath reunion for an album or tour.

“I would like to make it clear, because of mounting speculation and rumors, that there will definitely be NO reunion of all four original members of Black Sabbath, whether to record an album or to tour,” he said.

Incidentally, that statement contradicts an August statement from guitarist Tony Iommi in a Birmingham Mail interview where he essentially said that a reunion was all but certain.

“It’s all been very hush-hush. Ozzy’s been the worst at holding it back…We’re really looking forward to it and I think the stuff we’re writing is really good. It’s more back to the old original stuff,” Iommi said in the interview.

Once Iommi’s statement hit the internet, he practiced the fine art of non-denial, never denying saying the above or that Black Sabbath was on the verge of a reformation.

With any luck, the scheduled press conference will address the issue of a tour or album from the original Black Sabbath.
