Amy Winehouse Posthumous Album, Lioness: Hidden Treasures

Fans of the late Amy Winehouse will be pleased to hear that a posthumous release is on the way. Lioness: Hidden Treasures will be released December 5 and £1 from each copy of the album that is sold will serve as a donation to the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

Lioness: Hidden Treasures will serve as a compilation of unreleased and unfinished songs by Winehouse.  The unreleased tracks include “Halftime” and “The Girl From Ipanema”, which were recorded in 2003, as well as a collaboration with Nas titled “Like Smoke”, and a new song called “Between The Cheats”.  It will also include alternate takes of previously released songs such as “Wake Up Alone”, “Tears Dry On Their Own”, and “Valerie, as well as cover versions of The Shirelles, Donny Hathaway, Ruby & The Romantics, and a duet between Winehouse and Tony Bennett titled “Body & Soul”.

Amy’s father, Mitch Winehouse oversaw the project ensured that a posthumous album wouldn’t be released unless it was a fitting tribute to her career.  He said, “We believe it will stand as a fitting tribute to her musical legacy.”
