The Hold Steady frontman Craig Finn has announced a November 25 release date for his newest 7″ single, “Honolulu Blues.” The album will serve as a preview of Finn’s highly-anticipated solo debut in early 2012.
The limited-edition 7” vinyl will only be available in select record stores nationwide on Record Store’s Day Black Friday sale. This edition will also include the new b-side, “Rented Room.”
The album will be made available digitally on November 29.
Though the album does appear to be a solo effort for Finn, he tells Pitchfork that he has not decided whether he will release the record under his own name, or under band name, yet-to-be-determined.
“[The new album] definitely highlights a more vulnerable aspect of lyrics and storytelling,” he says.
Stay tuned for more information on the forthcoming album, and look for the album’s limited vinyl release on Record Store Day.
