Adele recently released the video for “Someone Like You”, the second single from her sophomore album, 21 (XL/Columbia) released . Check out the video after the jump
The video was directed by Jake Nava, who has done videography for a variety of artists- the Bee Gees (“Still Waters Run Sweet”), System of a Down (“BYOB”), and Kanye West( “Monster”). It is in black-and-white, and sets the forlorn-sounding Adele wandering the beautiful streets of Paris and testifying remorsefully to a former lover who has moved on, “never mind, I’ll find someone like you…”. Critics praised the simplicity of the song hailing the somber accompany piano, bare-boned, heart-breakingly honest lyrics and the singer’s renowned vocal performance.
The singer had recently wrapped up her U.K. tour when she unfortunately suffered vocal cord hemorrhaging, forcing her to cancel her already-postponed North American tour until she has healed, as we reported earlier this month.
