Scratch Acid Announce Tour Dates

Scratch Acid, the influential 1980’s Texas noise punk band hailing from Austin, Texas, has confirmed a run of North American Tour dates. The tour kicks off November 1 in Atlanta, Georgia at Variety Playhouse, and continues until December 17 in Seattle, Washington at Neumos. The band will also be playing the British All Tomorrow’s Parties in December, which is being curated by Neutral Milk Hotel’s Jeff Magnum, as well as a London gig.

This is going to be the first time the band is touring since disbanding in 1987, despite a three-show mini-reunion run in September of 2006, where original-members, David Yow on vocals, Brett Bradford on guitar, David Wm. Sims on bass and Ray Washam on drums, hit their hometown of Austin as well Chicago and Seattle.

Scratch Acid gained notoriety in the punk scene developing in the 80’s in Austin for their wild live spectacles, including performances dressed up as diverse characters ranging from Jesus to Hitler and the cast of the Wizard of Oz, in addition to dosing the audience with LSD. The band members went on to form other bands, most famously the Jesus Lizard, and also worked with bands such as Ministry, Big Boys, the Didjits and Tad.
