The sixth studio album from Lacuna Coil has been a long time coming, but die-hard fans will be pleased to hear that Dark Adrenaline is set to be released in North America on January 24, 2012. Their first single, “Trip the Darkness” is being played on the radio today.
Originally from Italy, Lacuna Coil has achieved international fandom by releasing 5 albums and 2 EP’s since their inception in 1994. Deemed as a key contributor to the goth metal scene, Lacuna Coil has received critical acclaim for balancing melodic sound with the thrashing energy that we have come to expect from a metal band.
Their new album, Dark Adrenaline is produced by Don Gilmore, who has previously worked with Good Charlotte, Linkin Park, and Bullet For My Valentine. Co-vocalist Cristina Scabbia assures fans, “The atmosphere of the record will make a lot of old-school fans very happy, and the newer fans will enjoy the vibrant energy and the dark blood running through the songs.“ Keep your ears close to the ground, for Lacuna Coil plans to share the stage with metal heavyweights Megadeth, Motorhead, and Volbeat in a North American Tour in early 2012.
