65daysofstatic’s Limited Edition Silent Running Album Available on November 14

Set to be released on Dustpunk Records in just over a month, Silent Running, serves as 65daysofstatic’s first foray into the realm of film scoring.  The band decided to rescore the cult classic Silent Running after being approached by the Glasgow film festival.

65daysofstatic are often described as an instrumental, post-rock, or math rock band.  They have been likened to God is an Astronaut and Explosions in the Sky, though they are perhaps more experimental in nature.  Once the idea was pitched to the band, they reevaluated their plan to take a year off and chose instead to immerse themselves in a musical project distinct from anything they had ever attempted before.  Their aim was to produce a proper soundtrack that served as a narrative to compliment the revered film.

Based on the track “Burial Scene” that the band has posted on their SoundCloud, fans can expect a highly ethereal, minimalistic listening experience from Silent Running.
