Folk Singer Bert Jansch Dies at 67

Famed Scottish folk singer Bert Jansch died Wednesday morning after a long fight with lung cancer, passing early in the morning at the age of 67.

The Glawgow native’s self-titled debut album, released in 1965, launched a career of over 20 more albums over the course of 40 years. He co-founded the band Pentangle in 1967, which recorded together until 1973. Jansch continued to release solo albums and influence musicians, including Johnny Marr and Graham Coxon. He released his final album, The Black Swan, in 2006 and supported Neil Young on tour.
