Brett Dennen Announces Fall Tour

Nor Cal folk singer/songwriter Brett Dennen has recently announced plans for fall tour in support his 2011 album Loverboy, out last April on Dualtone. The tour kicks off tomorrow in Athens, GA, but fans can catch Dennen this evening at a free show in Nashville, TN at the Public Square. The tour concludes December 9 in Denver, Colorado at the Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre.

The 31-year old’s music’s bright, sunny sound has earned him play on some of television’s most well-known shows, including Grey’s Anatomy, where his song “I Ain’t Gunna Lose You” was featured in 2009 as well as his sophomore album’s single, “Ain’t No Reason”, which was featured on an episode of Scrubs, among many others.

In addition to contributing with Jason Mraz in 2008 to a song for Survival International charity, the musician is also the resident rock-star for non-profit group The Mosaic Project, a Bay Area organization that focuses on teaching young children how to respect themselves, others, and of ethnic awareness using various teaching methods.

Dennen says this on his website regarding the power of music to incite change:

“In our world today we need to take every chance we have to empower people to make change. We are hoping touring will provide a model for bridging socially conscious music and people. Music is the magic of change.”

Attendees of all Brett Dennen shows are exposed to different non-profit organizations and charities that educate and raise awareness of whichever issues they represent. This year, Brett has teamed up with Reverb to sell Klean Kanteens, of which $5 from every proceed will go to benefit the Mosaic Project.
