Gary Numan Announces October 24 Album Release, UK Tour Dates

Legendary new wave artist Gary Numan has announced a release date for his upcoming album, Dead Son Rising, due to hit store on October 24 as a self-release via his website.

Numan teamed up with longtime collaborator Ade Fenton, who produced and co-wrote the album. Fenton also offers his hand on the keyboard.

The album developed out of a collection of demos from previous projects, and is touted as a more experimental effort than his previous work.

“In the last nine months, the album has grown into another animal, something more experimental and fluid,” says Numan. “It’s ended up being something I’m really very proud of.”

Dead Son Rising will be Numan’s 19th studio album since his 1978 effort with Tubeway Army.

Numan continues to put the finishing touches on his upcoming 2012 album, Splinter, and is fresh off of single release, “My Machines,” for which he collaborated with American experimental rockers, Battles. It is available now on Warp Records.

He is also planning a UK tour beginning September 15.
