Mastodon has been busy in 2011 promoting their upcoming album, The Hunter, most recently releasing another in series of highly stylized music videos for “Curl of the Burl.” Check out the video after the jump.
The video this time evokes a stoney, feel-good B-horror movie. And with a coked-up hillbilly, a Paul Bunyan-like protagonist that literally kills the sun, and a group of scantily-clad lady lumberjacks, “Curl of the Burl” is stoney in all the right ways.
The video comes just two weeks after the group released the video for “Spectrelight.” Prior to that, they released video for “Black Tongue” back in mid-August.
Mastodon will release The Hunter on September 27 via Reprise in the US. If you can’t wait til then, check out free stream of the album over at the band’s official site.
