A mix by Thom Yorke aired on British radio station XFM this past week, and it features a first glimpse of a new solo track by the Radiohead front man called “The Twist.”
This has been a big week for Radiohead and its members. Between the 2012 tour announcement and Jonny Greenwood’s impending solo project, it makes Sense that Thom Yorke would be releasing something new himself. Yorke’s “MoneyBack Mix” appeared this past week on British radio DJ and music journalist Mary Anne Hobbes’ “Music Response” program. The 25-minute compilation mostly combines fairly opaque, dub-inflected electronic blips and beats, including Yorke’s own remix of a track by inventive U.K. composers John Matthias and Nick Ryan.
The mix also includes two songs from Radiohead’s forthcoming album, The King of Limbs. The songs were remixed by none other than fellow London producer Blawan and Thriller Houseghost. Both of the songs are set to appear on Radiohead’s remix album, TKOL RMX 1234567 due out October 11.
