Releasing 20 days into Leonard Cohen’s 77th year, Legacy Recordings is preparing a massive box set of the singer-songwriters complete catalog filled with live albums along with his studio albums. The Complete Albums Collection will feature 17 albums packaged in replica record sleeves.
Though the catalog isn’t releasing analog, unfortunately these aren’t coming in a gigantic box capable of fitting 17 vinyl records, the CD’s will be packaged within “mini-LP” replica jackets that mimic the original release jackets from Cohen’s decade-spanning career.
The box set will also come complete with a 36-page booklet filled with, “discographical annotations and recording information,” a video from Live at the Isle of Wight 1970 with Cohen performing, “Suzanne,” live at the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival, along with an essay by Pico Iyer, a Cohen scholar.
The Complete Album Collection will release Oct. 11.
