Oneohtrix Point Never Announces Fall Tour Dates

Single man electronic group Oneohtrix Point Never will release its debut studio album, Replica on November 8 on the Software/Mexican Summer label.

Oneohtrix Point Never is Daniel Lopatin, U.S. native who hit the electronic scene after the release of his 2009 double-disc anthology, Rifts, and its 2010 follow-up, Returnal.

Lopatin’s commitment to electronic composition goes beyond the recent rise to fame—one of his vintage polyphonic synthesizers, a Roland Juno-60 was a fixture from Lopatin’s childhood jam sessions.

Recently, Lopatin was chosen by Animal Collective to perform at All Tomorrow’s Parties, a festival that they spearheaded in May 2011. Animal Collective and Oneohtrix Point Never also share production help, as both have brought Joe Lambert on board to master their album.

Onehotrix Point Never’s tour plans to offer audiences something different—an electronic experience apart. The Wire says that Lopatin’s music has the power to “transport, to confuse timelines and eras with sonic slight of hand,” while Pitchfork says, “he seems to sever the music from any kind of causality, so that it simply floats freely, morphing, rippling in a dance of infinite regeneration.”

The live shows and the album hope to deliver on these unique expectations for Oneohtrix Point Never.

Oneohtrix Point Never’s tour dates are as follows:

9/8 – Raleigh, NC – Hopscotch Fest

10/6 – Pittsburg, PA –Carnegie Melon

10/28 – Asheville, NC – Moogfest
