Chicago’s Eckhart Park will host the Brilliant Corners of Popular Amusements, multi-event festival, from September 16 through 18. The festival, which hopes to capture the Vaudeville spirit, will feature performances from Bill Callahan, El Circo Cheapo, School of Seven Bells, and Shellac.
This inaugural event will be the first of many, though Brilliant Corners is keeping future dates hidden. According to the creators, the festival could manifest anywhere, at anytime, including locals parks, theaters—anywhere.
Should the festival manifest anywhere near you after it’s date in Eckhart Park, look for performances from underground artist Bill Callahan, Vaudeville cabaret act El Circo Cheapo (who claim to be “poor man’s Cirque du Soleil), and Chicago’s own self-titled “minimalist rock trio,” Shellac.
Creator Mike Reed has had his hand in the Umbrella Music Collective, and The Chicago Jazz Festival.
