Founding Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist Dimitri Minakakis has gotten together with members of Municipal Waste and East of the Wall among others to form Argonauts.
It’s not uncommon that members of already existing bands get together in an attempt to create something unique but for most of these occasions it’s interesting to imagine what the new groups will create once they come together. Founding Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist Dimitri Minakakis led DEP until the release of their landmark album Calculating Infinity, then left the group in 2001 to concentrate more fully on graphic design. Minakakis is now back behind the microphone with a new band that features members of Municipal Waste and Burnt By The Sun. Not much is known about any imminent releases but the band’s Facebook page has the following information:
The tail end of 09, saw four gentleman who did time in Burnt by the Sun, The Dillinger Escape Plan & The Postman Syndrome (that currently play in Municipal Waste and East of the Wall as well) start charting out sea changes. Argonauts have set their own course in heavy music, unconcerned with limitation or agenda. Hold Fast.
