Art-rock group Deerhoof has released several collaborative singles with Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy. The album, Behold Raccoon in the Darkness, will feature different vocalists trying their hand at instrumentals from Deerhoof’s most recent album, Deerhoof vs. Evil.
The A-side of the album will feature Tweedy singing over the instrumental for Deerhoof’s “Behold a Marvel in the Darkness.” The B-side will feature “Own It,” the first recording to be released from Tweedy’s side project, The Raccoonists. The group will feature Tweedy and his two teenage sons, Sam and Spencer. Spencer Tweedy has been member of the pre-teen rock band, The Blisters, since Demember 2003, and has recently formed a new group, Tully Monster.
Behold a Raccoon in the Darkness will be available on October 11 on Polyvinyl, and is limited to 2000 clear, pink vinyl copies, according to Rolling Stone. The B-side track “Own It” also includes a music video:
