Adele Talks Country For New Album

Adele’s vocals will be set to a backdrop of bluegrass and country on her next release, if her plans go as planned. The British singer, fresh off a wave of success with sophomore album 21, is looking to record in the heartland of American country music as she takes her music career in a fresh direction.

Adele will likely begin work on her third album after her UK tour. Rumors afloat are that she’ll be featuring on new tracks with Tinie Tempah and Jay-Z.

She compared herself to a “four-year-old in a candy shop” when speaking of her exploration of the American country music scene. She said:

I was exposed to a lot of country, rockabilly and bluegrass because I was touring for such a long time. The melodies and to-the-point lyrics I have found in a lot of American styles of music is definitely something I’m going be pursuing heavily from now on. I want to spend some time in Austin in Texas and Nashville, Tennessee, and learn about it.
