Warm Ghost Reveals Release Date, Tracklisting for Narrows

Brooklyn, NY-based experimental pop duo Warm Ghost, consisting of members Paul Duncan and Oliver Chapoy, recently revealed the tracklisting, cover art and release date for their upcoming debut Partisan Records LP, Narrows.

Out September 27 via Partisan, Narrows reportedly features a flourishing, experimental tone that permeates its nine tracks.

“There is so much happening throughout the songs—little sound bursts, hypnotic rhythms—that help maintain the balance between a typical electronic pop album and an experimental one,” said Chapoy of the upcoming album.

Inspiration for the album, in Duncan’s estimation, ranges from the musical to the literary, simultaneously invoking acts such as Aphex Twin with lyrical content reminiscent of cyberpunk profit William Gibson.

“Humans are all changing from month to month,” explained Duncan. “The only cells we never replace are the ones in our brain. We just call upon unused brain cells when our current ones are damaged or depleted. So there are small channels or neurological waterways that connect all things that make us up. That’s definitely what the record is about…and making wry humor out of the pretension of that assumption.”

The tracklisting for Narrows is as follows:

G.T.W.S.
I Will Return
Once One
Myths On Rotting Ships
Ply7
Inside And Out
Mariana
Splay Of Road
An Absolute Light
