West, Jay-Z Confirm Release Date for Collaborative Album

Jay-Z and Kanye West have confirmed that their much-anticipated collaborative album, Watch the Throne, will be see a digital release on August 1 and hit shelves on August 5.

Beyonce, Mr. Hudson, and Frank Ocean of Odd Future will be among the guest vocalists on the album. Samples from Otis Redding and Curtis Mayfield will also appear in the tracks. Mike Dean, Swizz Beatz, No ID, and The Neptunes are amongst those receiving production credit on the album.

There is heavy speculation that the Beyonce collaboration “Lift Off” will succeed “H.A.M.” as the next single. “H.A.M.” will be a bonus track on the album.

“Run This Town” was the last collaboration from West and Jay-Z, prior to their work on Watch the Throne. It was previously rumored that the album would be released earlier this month without warning.
