The indie pop band Dum Dum Girls has released their latest single “Coming Down,” now available for download.
The single comes off the band’s forthcoming second album, Only in Dreams, which is set to be released on September 27.
The introspective ballad “Coming Down” was written by the band’s leader Dee Dee not long after her mother’s death. Their deeply personal sophomore album represents somewhat of a departure from the band’s somewhat lighter 2010 debut.
“This record, it was pretty much impossible not to write about very recent, real things,” says Dee Dee. From her mother’s illness and subsequent passing to the emotional toll of tour life on her relationship with her husband, the album truly runs the gamut on emotion and self-disclosure.
