Jay Z Holds Watch the Throne Listening Party, Reveals Album Cover and Other Details

Last week, Jay Z brought sneak preview of his upcoming collaboration album with Kanye West Watch the Throne to New York City’s Mercer Hotel, revealing a slew of new details in the process.

The listening session was privilege to press members and a couple of contest winners who won a trip to the event after being the first two people to pre-order the album.

MTV.com reported that Hova played around a dozen tracks to appear on the album, with tracks such as the album’s heavily-rumored, Beyonce-featuring next single, “Life Off.”  Other tracks played included “I Can’t Stop,” “No Church” and “Living So Italian,” the latter of which features a sample of Andrea Bocelli’s “Con Te Partiro.”

In addition to featuring music stylings from Beyonce, Watch the Throne also has anappearance from Odd Future vocalist Frank Ocean, among others.  Producers, while not officially announced, reportedly include No I.D., Hit-Boy and RZA—at least according to Complex Editor-In-Chief Noah Callahan-Bever.

Surprisingly, the album’s initial single, “H.A.M.,” which was met with a modicum of controversy at its release, may not be included in Watch the Throne’s final cut, as the tracklisting has not yet been finalized.

Despite all the aforementioned details, no release date is currently attached to the project.
