Social Services Agencies to Protest Odd Future’s Pitchfork Music Festival Performance

More controversy from the Odd Future camp: A number of groups dedicated to raising awareness about sexual assault, violence against gay people and domestic violence will protest outside the Pitchfork Music Festival when the group plays at Union Park in Chicago on July 16.

Pitchfork allegedly rejected a request by Rape Victims Advocates for a booth at the festival, saying that all the booths for non-profit groups had already been assigned.

Now, Between Friends, a domestic violence awareness group, has announced it will distribute 5,000 cardboard fans with a “powerful message about violence against women and resources listed on them.”

The YWCA will also be on hand to protest the group’s booking, as well as lesbian, gay and transgender rights groups.
