The album will be the band’s first studio album in more than a decade. Out from ATO Records and Prawn songs, Green Naugahyde is slated for release on September 13th. The album features Les Claypool, long-time guitarist Larry LaLonde, and drummer Jay Lane. Jay Lane is taking the place of long-time drummer, Tim Alexander.
On the addition of Jay Lane, LaLonde explained:
“We recorded this album in the same way we always do but having Jay there made this a whole different experience. It definitely made it more collaborative and it made us excited about the album as we went along because we had so much fun in the process.”
After dates at Bonnaroo and Red Rocks with the Flaming Lips, Primus will hit the road in September with a major fall tour in support of Green Naugahyde.
