Long-running Portland, Oregon-based indie rock outfit Modest Mouse debuted two new tracks at last weekend’s Sasquatch! Music Festival, both of which have hit the web. Check out the tracks, tentatively titled “Poison” and “Lampshades On Fire,” after the jump.
The tracks come from Modest Mouse’s as-yet-untitled upcoming full-length, which, as we reported on early last month, is being produced and recorded by rap superstar Big Boi at his Atlanta-based studio, Stankonia.
Don’t worry though, there’s no rapping—so far. And given the quality of the tracks, Big Boi’s assurance that “this motherfucker is jamming, man, believe me” has gained some credence.
In addition to working with Big Boi, the band will also appear on the upcoming Buddy Holly tribute album, Rave On Buddy Holly, covering the track “That’ll Be the Day.”
