International icon, Björk is set to release her next LP Biophilia later this summer and each track will be released as an application. All of the 10 tracks will feature a number of interactive video elements and will also showcase custom organs created by Icelandic organ crafter Björgvin Tómasson. For example, the song “Virus” will be an interactive game in which the listener must stop a virus from destroying a group of cells. The new album is Björk’s follow-up to her 2007 release Volta and is the first of its kind in the music industry.
The innovative Iceland native will also be making six appearances at the Campfield Market Hall in Manchester, UK beginning June 30 in support of Biophilia. The new LP wil also be released in regular format with the application is being described as an expression of the albums concept.
