DaM-FunK Unveils Tour Dates, Stream in Support of Love, Peace and Funky Beats

Pasadena, CA modern funk master DaM-FunK recently announced plans to release Love, Peace and Funky Beats, his sophomore effort and follow up to 2009’s Toeachizown, late this summer. In support of the album, FunK has also unveiled some summer tour dates and a stream of “Goin Hard,” the first single from the album.

Love, Peace and Funky Beats is set for release on July 12 via Stones Throw Records. Considered FunK’s “next phase” in his contribution to the modern funk movement, the album reportedly takes the DJ/producer’s melodic approach to 1980s funk to another level with the help of former Slave frontman, Steve Arrington.

Tour dates kick off today, May 28, in Detroit at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival.  Other festival stops include Connecticut’s B.O.M.B. Fest, Japan’s Taico Club Festival, Bonnaroo and the Winnipeg Jazz Festival.

Unfortunately for our East Coast readers, FunK’s tour is limited largely to the West Coast in the US, minus a few dates in New York, Ohio and Connecticut.
