Grammy-Award winner Adele, cancelled her sold-out show at First Avenue last night, due to a sudden illness. The 23-year-old was reportedly rushed to the hospital for “vocal issues” an hour and a half before the show was set to began. Adele currently is sitting #1 on the Billboard 200 Album Charts for the ninth straight week with her new release 21 and also atop of the Hot 100 with her hit single “Rolling in the Deep”.
The General Manager of First Avenue spoke of the cancellation stating, “She tried to sing at sound check and her throat hurt really too bad.” Adele’s publicist and label confirmed the illness as laryngitis and the show has been rescheduled for June 22. All tickets to last night’s concert will be honored then. The next city on the British singers U.S. tour, is set for Denver,CO Saturday, May 28. The “Chasing Pavements” singer is currently on bed-rest in hopes to continue her trek across the country.
