General admission tickets for the 2011 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival have sold out. With less than a month before the festival, only VIP tickets are still available.
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Bonnaroo, festival organizers have taken from a decade of lessons learned to better manage the 80,000 attendees expected to descend upon the sprawling 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tenn. which has hosted the festival each year.
New opening and closing dates and times have been announced to aid with traffic congestion during the arrival and departure of the massive crowd. Starting June 8 at 7:00 p.m., festival attendees with vehicles will be able to enter the camping grounds, one night ahead of opening day. As of 3:00 p.m. on June 13, the parking lots and camping grounds will close down, granting attendees a morning to recover from Sunday night.
Admissions have also been altered. Instead of paper tickets, RFID wristbands will grant attendees admission to the festival to help thwart ticket scams. Festival organizers have stated that attendees should not put their wristbands on, instead festival staff at the entrances will secure the wristband at the gate before scanning them in for admittance.
Since general admission tickets have been sold out, festival organizers encourage those who missed out on tickets not to make the journey as no tickets will be sold at the festival. Priced at $1349.50 per pair, the remaining VIP tickets are only available online and in pairs.
Bonnaroo 2011 will feature an extraordinary arrangement of musical acts and comedy acts for their 10th festival running from June 9 – 12.
