Big Boi, Daughter Start New Label

While most daughters of recording artists can expect a car on their sixteenth birthday, Outkast MC Big Boi has taken it a step further and given daughter Jordan her own record label. The label, called Purple Kids, will sign mostly younger artists.

“My daughter just turned 16 years old, and you can see it on MTV’s [‘My Super Sweet 16’], where they get cars, and things that depreciate and just don’t mean nothing. I wanted to give my child something that she can grow and build and nurture. So I gave her her own label.”

The first artist on Purple Kids is the 12-year-old singer Gabbie Rae, who has appeared on “The Tyra Banks Show”.

Michelle Rick: I like Pop Rocks, and believe your life is incomplete if you've never seen Forrest Gump. I recently saw the Counting Crows live, for free, and it was not good. I was supposed to interview David Hasselhoff once but he never showed. And I love the band that was once Oasis.
