Singer/songwriter Amanda Palmer was reportedly arrested in Amsterdam on Wednesday, May 11 for staging a “Free Ninja” performance. Palmer, who is married to Neil Gaiman, was informed by fans via Twitter, that Dam Square (her performance location) was sectioned off due to an unexpected function. Palmer tweeted back stating, “On my way, everybody avoid the cops and the royal families and head towards the monument.”
Palmer who is currently on a European tour with Gaiman and Ben Folds, had every intention to cover a Violent Femmes song, but was arrested by five police officers while performing with her ukulele. A video clip of the arrest was put on Youtube, was removed.
