The Iconic Van Dyke Parks Set To Make First Release in 15 Years

Legendary artist, Van Dyke Parks is set to release a series of 7″ vinyl singles, City Hall/Runt and his own label Bananastan. This marks the composer/producer’s first studio release since his acclaimed album Orange Crate Art, fifteen years ago. Each vinyl single will be illustrated by some of the most remarkable modern artists of our time, such as Ed Ruscha and Art Spiegelman. The Ruscha and Spiegelman illustrations have been chosen as the first two singles, “Dreaming of Paris” / “Wedding in Madagascar” and “Wall Street” / “Money Is King.” which will be available in August.

Van Dyke Parks described the new release as “a work of art that relates to the music within.” Parks will also release the compilation album, Arrangements by Van Dyke Parks on September 20. The 15-track greatest hits album will feature artist such as Arlo Guthrie, Ry Cooder, Little Feat, Sal Valentino, Mojo Men, Bonnie Raitt, Dino Martin and Lowell George. Parks is also set make a couple of appearances on May 15 in Ireland and May 16 in London.
