Google is giving Amazon a run for its money – the company has unveiled Music Beta by Google, its new cloud storage service, which will serve a direct competitor to Amazon’s recently announced similar service.
The service, unveiled Tuesday at the company’s I/O conference in San Francisco, will allow users to upload their personal music library to a storage locker, which they can then access from any device connected to the Internet.
Music Beta by Google is available by invite-only for now, and users who do get invited will be limited to 20,000 uploaded songs.
Google also released its new music player app for Android devices. The app can play music stored on any Android users’ phone, but can’t access music from the cloud if the user hasn’t been invited to use Music Beta by Google.
