New Jersey punk outfit Titus Andronicus has released a video for the single, “No Future Part Three: Escape From No Future.” The video, directed by Tom Scharpling, features the quintet performing throughout various parts of the state.
Conceived to showcase the topography of New Jersey, the video was shot during a day-long journey through the state. The band, along with Scharpling, drove out to areas such as; Pine Barrens, Asbury Park, New Egg Harbor, and New Brunswick.
“You think, ‘cause you’ve seen the Sopranos, the Real Housewives, you’ve seen Jersey Shore, you heard about the garbage dumps, you smelled the Meadowlands when you were driving down the turnpike, you think you know New Jersey? You don’t know anything about New Jersey,” said Patrick Stickles, lead singer and guitarist for Titus Andronicus as an introduction to the video. “That’s why me and my four best friends, together we make up Titus Andronicus, we’re gonna go up and down this state. And we’re gonna show the world, through this video, what New Jersey is really all about.”
Cutting between shots of the band driving across the state and the band performing, the video captures places such as; a forest in Pine Barrens, a vacant building in Asbury Park, a front lawn in New Egg Harbor, a college basement party in New Brunswick, ending with a rooftop performance in downtown Jersey City.
