According to a recent post to their website, Swedish dark electronica duo The Knife are currently in the studio recording a new album that is set to be released in 2012.
Their last album, Silent Shout, was released in 2006 and garnered much critical acclaim. After the release of Silent Shout, The Knife went on to release an opera entitled Tomorrow, in Year to mixed reviews in 2010.
Karin Dreijer Andersson, the duo’s female element, also released a successful 2009 solo album under her Fever Ray moniker.
The only info offered on the duo’s site about their Silent Shout follow up indicated that they are “recording a new album to be released in 2012.” Included along in that post was information about fighting the discrimination of Romani people in European countries.
