Moby’s First Single From Destroyed, “The Day”, Out Now

Moby releases new single, “The Day”, from his forthcoming album Destroyed.

Destroyed set for release May 17th will be Moby’s 10th studio album. “The Day” was directly inspired by David Bowie and Brian Eno’s production, the track is a deeply personal song about late night desperation and dark night of the soul feelings usually associated with some terrible addiction. Moby writes:

“The Day” was written in a hotel room in Spain at dawn when I hadn’t slept. It was a beautiful hotel room, a beautiful perfect hotel room and it was six or seven in the morning. I wrote it on a acoustic guitar and recorded it on my phone, brought it home and re-recorded it with old broken down electronics that I have in my studio”

The official music video will premiere next week and will feature the actress Heather Graham as a nurse and guardian angel.

In addition to the new album, Moby is partnering with Saatchi & Saatchi and Vimeo for a new video challenge. Participants are asked to create a music video inspired by one of three tracks from Destroyed, which are “Be the One”,”The Day” and “After.” For more information head to www.moby.com.
