Screeching Weasel frontman Ben Weasel (aka Ben Foster) reportedly got into physical altercation with two women during their Friday night SXSW performance at Austin’s Scoot Inn. More info after the jump.
The incident reportedly started when a female audience member struck Weasel in the face with ice. Weasel offered to fight the offender in response to her ice-throwing, striking her and an owner of the venue during the altercation.
Security removed Weasel from the stage during the scuffle and he quickly left the premises, as did the two women involved. According to a report from the Los Angeles Times, no police action has yet been taken.
Weasel had been on a long tirade about SXSW for the incident, calling SXSW a “carnival of schadenfreude” and referring to journalists covering the festival as “parasites.”
